(This is part of our series of posts from our six-week Road Scholar Independent Living and Learning in Florence trip to Italy in Spring 2025. We have an index to all the posts from that trip here.)
We started our last week of language classes this morning, then had lunch with our RVing friends Peter and Theresé, who were in Florence for a few hours as part of their own month-long tour of Italy. Then it was back to the school for a Road Scholar group meeting to discuss move-out plans and receive our “graduation” certificates, followed by a classroom lecture on The Italian Renaissance from art historian Emanuela Gavilli. (No photos from the lecture, but plenty from the tour she led on the following day, coming up in the next post.)
We had arranged to meet Theresé and Peter at I Tarocchi Ristorante, a pizzeria close to the ABC School, during a 90 minute break that we had between language class in the morning and the afternoon Road Scholar sessions. We were very glad they were able to work us into their schedule!

Then back in the classroom, we each received our Road Scholar “graduation” certificates. Each participant’s certificate cited them for something memorable they’d done during the trip.

Apparently, my limoncello tiramisu was pretty memorable!
