One of the best things about RVing is that you get to change the view out your window as often as you want. We’ve found in California that if you’re willing to pay for it, you can park with some amazing views.
We wanted to visit family and friends in the San Francisco area and found a great RV park in Half Moon Bay called Pillar Point RV Park. It was $84 per night for the ocean view sites, but we decided it was worth it.
Not only were there great views out the windows but there was a path along the beach that afforded fantastic views of Surfer’s Beach as well as Pillar Point Harbor.
It was really nice to be so close to the ocean. I loved hearing the waves crashing and I didn’t even mind the electronic fog horn too much after the first few days.
We did have to park our truck in an adjacent parking lot, but some people were able to fit their vehicle in their RV site. Technically, the max length was 40 feet, but we were able to get ourselves in there, even though we measure about 41 feet with the ladder on the back. Maneuvering the Fifth Wheel was tricky but with patience, and several adjustments we made it fit. I was a little envious of the guests with motor homes who had a much easier time parking.
